Ori…
Oriana Paola Ramirez is a Venezuelan-born, Florida-based multidisciplinary artist working across performance, voice, sound, image and story. Through recurring characters (the fairy, the cheetah, the siren, the dancer) she builds a mythology about a magical being learning to be human without losing her magic. Her work moves between English and Spanish, between the body and the written word, and into sound realms where prayer, spoken word and soundscape become an authentic creation that speaks to the soul.
Performance and Video
Short performances filmed in landscapes, museums and everyday spaces, where movement, spoken word and text meet.
Gallery Encounters [2024–ongoing] is a series of embodied responses to artworks in museums and galleries.
Characters and Photography
Costumed photographic works in which Oriana becomes her characters: the Fairy, the Cheetah, the Siren. Out of Disguise [working title, year] is a self-portrait series moving from perfectionism and outside expectation toward being seen.
